Bender Companies is seeking a skilled and dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at our community in Mount Prospect
. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on professional who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

To succeed in this role, you should possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues. The right candidate will be self‑motivated, organized, and able to follow direction while also working independently when needed.

Full‑time

$23–25 per hour

8AM to 4:30 PM (hours may vary). Monday to Friday. On call. Weekends as needed.

• Reliable transportation to get to work
• 1+ year of experience in apartment maintenance, facilities, or residential construction
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
• Familiarity with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance maintenance
• Ability to work independently, follow directions, and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
• Maintain property grounds by removing trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep common areas clean and attractive
• Support the completion of unit turnovers and make‑readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning as needed
• Assist in preventative maintenance efforts to extend the life of property systems and equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
• Participate in an on‑call schedule for after‑hours maintenance emergencies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

This position will require you to work on‑site at the property in Mount Prospect
.
