Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards. Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair allowed. Cold Room/Freezers –22°F/-6°C. Loud noises from equipment/machinery. Some degree of PPE (personal protective equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs). Work with hazardous/toxic materials.

First Shift: Tuesday to Friday 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay Range: $15.26 to $18.50 per hour.

About the Role

Within the Clinical Trials Division (CTD), this role supports global pharmaceutical and biotech partners in delivering therapies to patients safely and efficiently. Guided by the principle “There is a Patient Waiting,” the Packaging/Labeling Technician I plays a critical role in ensuring clinical supplies are accurately packaged, labeled, and handled in compliance with regulatory standards.

A Day in the Life
  • Label, assemble, and package pharmaceutical products.
  • Perform manual or automated filling and packaging of blistered and bottled products.
  • Accurately count and prepare packaging components to ensure accurate accountabilities before and at the completion of a job order.
  • Ensure quality and productivity requirements are met.
  • Clean packaging rooms and machinery in accordance with SOPs and Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMPs).
  • Apply GMP in all areas of responsibility, following regulations and operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute packaging and labeling activities in accordance with approved procedures and job specifications.
  • Maintain accurate counts and reconciliation of all packaging components.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and safety regulations.
  • Support operational efficiency while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to learn new tasks with guidance and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and understand batch documentation to ensure proper assembly of clinical supplies.
  • Capability to meet physical job requirements, including standing, lifting, and bending.
  • Must meet vision requirements (e.g., color vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment).
  • Willingness to work in cold environments (−8 °C to −20 °C).
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, with flexibility for overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Required to obtain and maintain PPE certification, including use of respirators and safety gear.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Fully onsite position based in Mount Prospect, Illinois.
  • First shift schedule (Monday–Thursday).
  • Standard 40‑hour workweek.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position in Illinois is $15.26–$22.88.

This position may be eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance.
