Position: Roofing & Insulation Sales - Uncapped Commissions

Green Attic is hiring an experienced Roofing & Insulation Sales Representative to sell residential and commercial roofing, insulation, and energy‑efficiency projects throughout the Chicagoland area.

We are looking for a strong salesperson who understands roofing and insulation, knows how to build trust with homeowners and property owners, and can confidently take a customer from inspection to signed agreement.

Green Attic has served Chicagoland for over 15 years and has built a strong reputation for quality work, professional service, and reliable home improvement solutions. Roofing and insulation are major growth areas for us, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with an established local company.

This is a strong opportunity for a sales professional who wants a respected company name, strong operational support, and the ability to sell multiple high‑demand services.

What You’ll Do
  • Run sales appointments with homeowners, property owners, building managers, and commercial clients.
  • Inspect roofs, attics, crawlspaces, and insulation‑related problem areas, or coordinate inspections with the field team.
  • Identify roofing issues, insulation problems, ventilation concerns, air leaks, moisture issues, comfort complaints, and energy‑efficiency opportunities.
  • Sell residential roofing replacements, roofing repairs, attic insulation, air sealing, crawlspace insulation, ventilation improvements, and related home performance services.
  • Sell commercial roofing opportunities, including flat roofing, repairs, coatings, maintenance, and replacement projects.
  • Prepare and present roofing and insulation proposals.
  • Explain materials, warranties, scope differences, pricing, timelines, energy savings, comfort improvements, and project expectations.
  • Handle customer objections around price, timing, competing estimates, insurance, urgency, scope, and value.
  • Follow up with open leads, unsold estimates, and past customers.
  • Keep clean notes, photos, measurements, proposal details, and customer updates.
  • Coordinate with production after the sale to confirm scope, scheduling, materials, and customer expectations.
  • Represent Green Attic professionally in the field.
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with real roofing, insulation, exterior remodeling, or home services sales experience.

Residential roofing or insulation sales experience is strongly preferred. Commercial roofing experience is a plus.

You should be comfortable discussing roofing systems, roof conditions, repair versus replacement options, attic insulation, air sealing, ventilation, comfort issues, energy‑efficiency upgrades, warranties, pricing, financing, insurance questions, and project timelines.

The right person is confident, organized, professional, and strong at follow‑up. We do not need someone who “likes talking to people” but forgets to call back leads. That is not sales. That is expensive background noise.

Requirements
  • 3+ years sales experience - we will train.
  • Ability to sell or learn commercial roofing services.
  • Experience running in‑home or on‑site sales appointments.
  • Strong understanding of roofing systems, insulation materials, attic conditions, ventilation, inspections, and replacement scopes.
  • Ability to explain roof problems, insulation problems, comfort issues, and solutions clearly to homeowners and commercial clients.
  • Ability to present estimates and close sales.
  • Strong follow‑up habits and CRM discipline.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to appointments throughout the Chicagoland area.
  • Professional communication and appearance.
Preferred Experience
  • Insulation sales experience, including attic insulation, blown‑in cellulose, fiberglass, spray foam, air sealing, crawlspaces, and ventilation.
  • Experience selling energy‑efficiency upgrades or home performance services.
  • Experience with flat roofing systems, TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, coatings, roof repairs, and maintenance programs.
  • Experience selling to property managers, building owners, HOAs, contractors, or commercial clients.
  • Insurance roofing experience.
  • Experience using roof measurement, inspection, documentation, or proposal tools.
  • Proven sales track record, including close rate, average ticket, roofs sold per month, insulation jobs sold per month, or monthly revenue.
  • Experience selling roofing, gutters, siding, insulation, solar, exterior remodeling, HVAC, or related home improvement services.
