School Security Officer

Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.

Bethlehem, PA

$18.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM (could stretch to 7:30 PM/8:00 PM some nights)
• Schedule includes after‑school and occasional weekend events when required.
• This position follows the school calendar, with 2 months off during the summer.

• Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador:
  Be on time, look sharp in proper uniform, be engaged, be consistent.
• Coach and mentor students.
• Incident Management and verbal de‑escalation.
• Monitor flow of traffic during pickup hours.
• Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Walk up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism.
• Stand for up to four hours per day.
• Act as first responder for emergencies.
• Stand post at secondary locations as required.
• Identify and report suspicious activity.
• Complete daily activity reports and incident reports as required.
• Cultivate positive relationships with staff and students.

• Minimum of 6 years’ post‑secondary education work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of security experience working in a school environment, or have experience as a sworn police officer, military, or corrections officer.
• Can work well under pressure.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Obtains required clearances for working in school.
• Ability to complete all required training to work in schools.
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
• Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile e‑mail access).
• Ability to comprehend and utilize the English language (verbal and written).
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Must possess a focused, professional, and courteous demeanor.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Experience as a sworn municipal, state, or federal police officer or military MP, military MA, Air Force Security Forces.
