Armed School Security Officer – Cardinal Point Homeland Security Group

Mount Prospect, IL. Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.

Pay: $30.00 Location: Philadelphia PA, 19121
Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM. Position follows the school calendar, with 2 months off during the summer. Schedule includes regular school hours and occasional after‑school, and weekend events as needed. Summer camp hours may be required.

• Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador:
  Be on time, look sharp in proper uniform, be engaged, be consistent.
• Coach and mentor students.
• Incident management and verbal de‑escalation.
• Maintain orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways.
• Monitor restrooms throughout the day.
• Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Walk up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism.
• Stand for up to four hours per day.
• Act as first responder for emergencies.
• Stand post at secondary locations as required.
• Identify and report suspicious activity.
• Cultivate positive relationships with staff and students.
• Access control.
• Monitor CCTV.

• Prior experience as a Municipal Police Officer or a State Trooper.
• Five years of experience as an armed security officer.
• Three years of experience as a security officer in a school setting.
• Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification.
• Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit.
• Must possess your own firearm.
• Must be able to pass firearms qualification course.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Consent to a drug screen and completing criminal background investigation.
• Consent to obtain required clearances for working in school.
• No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
• Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access).
• Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written).
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Must possess a professional and courteous demeanor.
