Position Summary

Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Warehouse & Facilities Technician to support our material logistics and take ownership of our facility maintenance operations.

While prior warehouse or maintenance experience is a plus, the right candidate will be prepared to learn. We are looking for a highly teachable individual with mechanical common sense and strong organizational habits. Because this role involves a significant amount of self-supervised work, you must be capable of retaining instructions and reliably executing daily tasks on your own without constant oversight.

Individuals with disorganized or unstructured work habits will not find success in this role.

Core Responsibilities Storeroom Logistics & Material Transport
  • Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and systematically organize utility materials and hardware.
  • Drive cooperative vehicles to transport and deliver staged line materials and supplies safely to outer facility locations across our service territory.
  • Stage necessary hardware for daily field crew dispatch and handle the physical processing, sorting, and restocking of material returns.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and strict organization in the warehouse and yard layout at all times.
Facility Maintenance & Property Upkeep
  • Perform routine in-house facility repairs, property upkeep, and preventative maintenance across our Jefferson, Marion, and Washington County locations (basic plumbing, hardware fixes, and filter schedules).
  • Act as the point of contact for internal facility maintenance requests, executing basic custodial fixes or routine repairs as needed.
  • Take direct accountability for property appearance and exterior curb appeal, including routine physical tasks such as clearing yard trash, raking leaves, and cleaning out gutters.
  • Maintain accurate facility records, maintenance logs, and tracking sheets for all completed tasks.
  • Coordinate on-site contractor arrivals by meeting external maintenance workers, collecting service quotes for supervisor review, and physically escorting them during building repairs.
Safety Compliance & Spill Response
  • Conduct mandatory monthly safety inspections and keep precise regulatory records for fire extinguishers, fuel inventory, and property safety assets.
  • Acclimate with cooperative safety and environmental standards to proactively recognize and report when facility conditions, labeling, or warning signs are no longer compliant.
  • Assist with on-site and off-site environmental utility spill containment and cleanup protocols (cooperative-provided Forklift and HAZWOPER certification training will be completed upon hire).
Emergency Storm & Winter Weather Support
  • Provide critical physical support outside of standard business hours during severe weather events. This includes overnight snow removal and plowing at cooperative headquarters to keep the facility clear, as well as round-the-clock emergency material staging for line crews during major power outages.
Candidate Profile (The Actual Requirements)
  • Self-Supervised Discipline: A mature work ethic with the ability to work productively with minimal supervision, stay focused on tasks, and work independently.
  • Immaculate Organizational

    Skills:

A natural habit of keeping tools, materials, properties, and records clean, orderly, and precise. High standards for tidiness are a strict requirement.
  • Trainability & Aptitude: The ability to listen, retain information, and successfully apply basic mechanical and logistical concepts after being properly shown.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor comfortably in both indoor warehouse and outdoor environments.
  • Driver’s License: Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
