Position: Night Custodian Sweeper (2026-2027) - Bullitt East High School
Join us for the  school year.

Bullitt East High School is looking for an energetic person to maintain the cleanliness of our school community. This person will perform routine custodial activities at an assigned school site or facility to maintain buildings, locker rooms and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition. Basic custodial duties. Previous cleaning experience preferred.

Position Details

Hours: 8 hours per day

Contract Length: 182 days per year

• 170 student instructional days
• 4 holidays
• 7 plannning days
• 1 extended day

Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Employment Status:
Full-time with benefits

Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:
• High school diploma or GED
• Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit

Pay Scale

• Starting Pay (Step
  0): $14.84/hour
• Experienced Pay (Step 10): $16.89/hour

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.

• The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula:
Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
