Job Description

Night Custodian Sweeper ) at Bullitt East High School.

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of school buildings, locker rooms, and adjacent grounds. Performs routine custodial activities to keep facilities clean, orderly, and secure.

Hours:

8 hours per day.

Contract Length: 182 days per year (170 instructional days, 7 planning days, 4 holidays, 1 extended day). Contract days are prorated based on the start date.

Employment Status:
Full‑time with benefits, 10‑month employee on the classified pay schedule.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED.
• Proof of educational requirements required.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Pay Scale :

• Starting Pay (Step
  0): $14.84 per hour.
• Experienced Pay (Step 10): $16.89 per hour.

New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full‑time, verified experience. Hired applicants must submit the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Hourly position; salary distributed over a year‑long contract across 10 months. Four paychecks are issued at the end of June.

Salary Formula:
Hours per day × hourly rate = daily rate; daily rate × contracted days = annual salary; annual salary ÷ remaining pay periods = gross biweekly pay.

• Retirement:
  Membership in the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA).
• Life Insurance (Total $50,000): $20,000 paid by the State of Kentucky and $30,000 paid by BCPS.

  Comprehensive health insurance (employee premium based on selected plan) or waiver HRA options.
• Time Off:
  Sick leave, personal leave, and emergency leave (prorated). Unused personal leave rolls over to sick leave; unused sick leave rolls over.
