1. Commercial Strategy & Business Growth
Develop and execute commercial strategies to increase market share and revenue.
Identify new trade lanes, cargo opportunities, and customer segments.
Drive growth across import/export and regional shipping markets.
Monitor competitor activities, freight trends, and market intelligence.
2. Sales & Customer Management
Lead sales and marketing teams to achieve volume and revenue targets.
Manage relationships with key shippers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, and corporate customers.
Negotiate long-term contracts, freight rates, and commercial agreements.
Conduct strategic customer visits and business reviews.
3. Trade & Pricing Management
Oversee pricing strategies and trade profitability.
Analyze demand-supply trends, vessel utilization, and cargo mix optimization.
Recommend rate revisions, GRIs, and yield improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with regional trade managers for network optimization.
4. Chartering & Operations Coordination
Supervise chartering activities, voyage planning, and commercial vessel operations.
Ensure efficient fleet deployment and cargo allocation.
Coordinate with operations, logistics, and port teams for seamless execution.
Monitor bunker costs, turnaround time, and voyage profitability.
5. Financial & P&L Management
Own commercial budgets and profitability targets.
Forecast revenue, monitor margins, and optimize operating costs.
Prepare monthly MIS, forecasts, and management reports.
Ensure commercial compliance and risk management.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor commercial, sales, and trade teams.
Collaborate with port authorities, shipping agents, terminals, and regulatory bodies.
Build strategic alliances with carriers and logistics partners.
Drive a high-performance commercial culture.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Shipping, Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration, Marine Studies, or related field.
MBA in Sales & Marketing / International Trade preferred.
Professional certifications in Shipping or Maritime Management are an advantage.
Experience Required
12–20 years of experience in shipping line, container liner, chartering, or maritime logistics industry.
Strong exposure to commercial shipping operations, trade management, and freight sales.
Experience handling P&L responsibility and large commercial teams.
Established industry network with shippers, brokers, and logistics stakeholders
