Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer
Salary Range
: $18-23/hour (Depending on experience.)
Our client is seeking a dependable and hands‑on Maintenance Technician to join their team in Thomasville, GA. In this role, you’ll work closely with the maintenance team to ensure a safe, functional, and well‑maintained community. You’ll play a key part in preserving the continuity of essential services, performing routine maintenance, and completing repairs that support resident comfort and security.
What You’ll Be Doing- Inspect the community regularly and take immediate action to address unsafe conditions or damaged items
- Diagnose and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs across the property
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in all work areas, including proper cleanup after tasks
- Assist with groundskeeping duties such as raking, sweeping, shoveling, and removing large items when needed
- Schedule and complete preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment, apartments, and common areas
Understand key maintenance systems, including utility and fixture shut‑offs, sewer cleanouts, etc. - Follow EPA and OSHA guidelines for handling and storing hazardous materials (e.g., solvents, flammables, refrigerants)
- Monitor inventory, report needs, and assist with apartment preparation and repairs to meet deadlines
- Support team members and step in to handle maintenance responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High school diploma, GED, vocational certification, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in maintenance, property management, or construction trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screening
- Working knowledge of general maintenance practices and safety procedures
- EPA Refrigerant Certification (preferred, not required)
