We are looking for a Skilled Trades Team Lead to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings team in Muscatine, IA!

Friday through Monday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Provide daily leadership to skilled trades members through guidance from upper-level leaders in order to maximize facility performance in the areas of quality, productivity, and efficiency while maintaining a safe and positive work environment. Coordinate maintenance, repair, and upgrade of existing assets in addition to maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems. Determine action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to eliminate failures.

• Lead day-to-day shop floor activities.
• Execute scheduled work.
• Resourcing and prioritization of emergency work.
• Escalate job overruns or interruptions to GL.
• Shift to shift communication.
• Make tactical decisions to stay on schedule.
• Refine and finalize labor, parts, priorities, and methods.
• Communicate with maintenance technicians, planners, operations, and engineering as frequently as possible.
• Assure reasonably accurate distribution of time and materials to specific jobs.

• Safety – comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures; meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Environment – Dust, fumes, and noise are common; some facilities are climate controlled, but seasonal fluctuations in temperature and humidity are expected.

• Minimum of five (5) years experience in providing and implementing solutions in equipment, process, and facility reliability in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Development of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Previous experience in leading teams to successful outcomes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer‑generated reports.
• Apply problem‑solving techniques to evaluate and resolve conditions to maximize operating efficiencies.
• Must be able to perform the same work as other skilled trades members.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong communication and leadership skills required to ensure positive productivity.
• CNC programming software experience.
• RCI experience including 3P, standard work, and standard work layout.
• Proficient in PLC, software, panel view, and panel control software.
• Proficient in MP2 or CMMS software.
