Job Purpose

Plan and schedule work for groups throughout the Utility. This may include maintenance and non‑maintenance work for the Generation site departments and some departments at the A/O Center. Use the maintenance management system to plan, schedule, and record work.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Work with other department supervisors in setting up, maintaining, and documenting a comprehensive maintenance management system which includes equipment records, maintenance records, preventive and routine maintenance subsystems, cost recording and budget development, work orders, etc. This may include, but is not limited to:
    • Develop schedules and identify scheduling conflicts for equipment and crafts.
    • Develop long term outage schedule and outage work plans.
    • Schedule and present daily and weekly planning meetings with craft supervisors and Operations representatives.
    • Recommend and maintain proper inventory of spare parts.
    • Establish new preventive, predictive, or routine maintenance schedules and frequencies.
    • Ensure recordkeeping is correct and current to reflect actual work completed and to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
    • Identify recurring maintenance problems and work with crafts to implement solutions.
  • Manage and assist with assigned repair and improvement projects.
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Assist in training personnel on the computerized maintenance management system and the maintenance management process.
  • Recommend and help implement new maintenance techniques to solve problems and improve efficiency or effectiveness of maintenance departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications Knowledge
  • High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of power plant or heavy industrial maintenance experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Utility facilities, including plant equipment, site facilities, piping, electrical, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards that govern work at a power generation facility, including: ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, NFPA, NEC, AWS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of utility maintenance and operation practices related to mechanical, technical, and electrical systems, including planning and scheduling; routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance; work order systems, and equipment histories.
  • Understanding of welding processes and procedures, metal fabrication, machine tools, hand tools, and rigging.
  • Working knowledge of electrical equipment, wiring, controls, and electronic controls.

    Position Requirements
  • Must be able to attend work on a regular basis and work overtime as needed.
  • Work Environment
  • Work environment is primarily in an office environment at an industrial coal-fired power plant. Frequent visits to job sites in the plant and on the generation site grounds may be required.
  • Must comply with all safety and site rules at all locations.
  • Must be able to comply with the requirements of the Respiratory Protection Program.
