Job Summary

The Utilities Maintenance Technician for Materne North America is responsible for the maintenance and coordination of plant utility systems and pre‑processing production equipment. This role also provides general facility and property maintenance support for the Nampa, .

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain efficient operation of facility utility systems (wastewater, HVAC, boilers, nitrogen refrigeration, refrigeration equipment, compressed air, steam, and access control) and troubleshoot & repair automated high‑speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Complete work orders and document daily work in CMMS.
  • Manage projects regarding time, safety, and resources.
  • Work with computer interfaces to monitor equipment.
  • Complete paperwork and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain effective preventive maintenance programs and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Occasionally perform and coordinate maintenance and basic repairs for the building, facilities, grounds, and property (waste removal, snow removal, landscaping).
  • Work on food processing equipment: conveyors, augers, pumps, belts, grinders, choppers, mixers.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues to determine component replacement or programming issues.
  • Demonstrate the company’s values and winning behaviors while adhering to all company policies and practices, including safety, environmental protocols, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Additional technical education beyond high school is highly desired.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a maintenance role focused on troubleshooting and repairing utility systems and machines, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred:
    Previous experience in the food industry.
  • Strongly preferred:
    Certified Boiler Operator or experience operating gas‑fired boiler systems, plus experience maintaining at least two of the following utility systems:
    Waste Water, Nitrogen Refrigeration, Building Management System and Access Control, Steam, Compressed Air, HVAC.
Knowledge / Skills
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical background.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics.
  • Ability to understand the big picture and work independently.
  • Moderate computer skills:
    Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Past welding experience in carbon and stainless‑steel welding.
  • High attention to detail and consistently maintaining high standards of performance.
  • Effective communication in English: verbal, reading, and writing.
  • Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including safety shoes and hearing protection.
  • Work up to 12 hours per day and be on one’s feet for extended periods.
  • Walk up and down stairs several times each shift.
  • Bend, squat, kneel, and crawl safely in, on, or under machinery as needed.
