Assistant Maintenance Manager - JLL
What this job involves:
- Leverage leadership skills and technical knowledge to lead a maintenance mechanics team, working alongside robotics, controls systems technicians, and outside contractors in a fast‑paced environment.
- Model and maintain safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all.
- Lead, train, and support maintenance team members to develop their skills and expand team capabilities.
- Develop solutions to complex problems, manage outside contractors, and be on‑call for emergencies.
- Support multi‑site production with a safe, customer‑focused approach, handling multiple projects and daily activities to meet deadlines and departmental goals.
- Provide complete oversight of preventive maintenance for the facility and act as the client’s point of contact during their shift.
- Maintain flexibility to work various shifts and alternative work schedules as needed, moving extensively during shifts to attend to equipment and team members.
- Partner with onsite Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to ensure all safety standards are met.
- Meet operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including labor tracking.
- Own scheduling and tracking completion of tickets and oversee building cleanliness.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking, perform daily and weekly audits for cleanliness and work orders, and implement preventive, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance programs.
- Maintain a client‑centric relationship with operational stakeholders and participate in the development and tracking of budgets.
- Assist in project planning and cost analysis, provide thorough feedback to enhance performance, and conduct written performance appraisals as needed.
- Promote good housekeeping, travel as required to support network needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Experience performing maintenance on industrial machinery, electrical systems, and electronic controls.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and alternative work schedules.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Previous experience managing budgets and vendors.
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience in project management.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
Requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk extensively throughout the facility during shifts. Requires repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. Requires lifting parts and tools averaging 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds. Requires dexterity in eye/hand coordination and wrist motion. Working conditions may include elevated heights, small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.
