About the Position
Custodians provide care and cleaning for assigned areas in and around Napa County buildings, offices, and other facilities. The shift is Monday-Friday 5:00 pm - 1:30 am PST and will be assigned to our Downtown Napa team.
- Hourly Rate Range: $26.38 (Step
1) - $31.01 (Step
5) - 3.5% COLA Increase effective 07/01/2026
- The shift for the current vacancy is Monday - Friday 5:00 pm - 1:30 am for Downtown Napa.
- Persons employed in this class must be willing to work days, evenings, and nights.
- License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
- Experience: One year of experience performing general custodial or cleaning work.
- Education: Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance.
Disaster Service Workers:
Napa County employees automatically become Disaster Service Workers. This means that when Napa County experiences emergencies (earthquake, wildfire, power outage, flood, etc.) you may be asked to pivot from your regular duties to provide critical services to those affected by the emergency (CA Govt Code § 3102).
