The Department of State Hospitals – Napa is hiring full‑time, permanent Custodian I positions. Successful candidates will serve as members of the Housekeeping Team within the General Services Department, performing custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe, and health‑conducive environment in a state hospital setting.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of patient rooms, common areas, and work spaces.
• Assist in the organization and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols in compliance with hospital regulations.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and facilities staff to meet daily custodial standards.

• Completion of the CalHR STD 678 Employment Application with full experience and education details.
• Eligibility for the Custodian I examination (list eligibility required).
• Minimum of one year custodial or housekeeping experience, preferred.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Submit a completed STD 678 application, including duties performed and supervisor contact information.
• Provide results of the Custodian I examination to demonstrate list eligibility.
• Incomplete applications or those lacking the required information will not be considered.

Applications will be accepted until positions are filled. The cutoff date for applications is the last day of each month; applications received later are processed at the next scheduled cutoff.
