Harbor Care is seeking a reliable and mission‑driven Maintenance Technician to support our residential properties and the individuals we serve. In this role, you will help ensure safe, well‑maintained housing environments while also assisting clients with transportation to critical services.

This is more than a maintenance role - it’s an opportunity to contribute directly to stability, dignity, and improved outcomes for individuals and families across New Hampshire.

Location:

77 Northeastern Blvd, Nashua, with in‑state travel to Harbor Care properties using our vehicles

Schedule:

40 Hours/Week, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

* after three months, this position will also include on‑call responsibilities every third week and weekend.

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of Harbor Care properties while supporting client transportation needs. You will work across sites to address maintenance needs, respond to issues, and contribute to a high‑quality living environment for the individuals we serve.

  • Perform routine building maintenance, including painting, minor electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC support
  • Maintain building interiors and exteriors, including cleaning, repairs, and seasonal groundskeeping (snow removal, lawn care, etc.)
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations promptly and effectively
  • Complete work orders, documentation, and status reporting to supervisors
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff
  • Assist with material pickup, vendor coordination, and special projects as needed

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance, construction, or related trade experience
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing or walking
  • Ability to travel between Harbor Care locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in residential or property maintenance
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Experience in human services, housing, or nonprofit environments
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
