Custodial Worker I
Insures the hospital is clean and all federal, state, and local laws are adhered to in order to meet or exceed standards. Behavioral Action Steps:

Job Duties
- Work Outcome:
Insures the hospital is clean and all federal, state, and local laws are adhered to in order to standards.
Behavioral Action Steps:
Disinfects and sanitizes restroom shower walls, sinks, by using bath room caddy machine, door handles, glass, and stainless steelTrash removal, dust mopping, wet mopping, scrubbing/ stripping/ waxing/ buffing tile floors, vacuuming/shampooing carpets, and performing dusting by removal of dust particles and bugs from light fixtures, ledges, and windows sillsProducts must be adequately supplied to client areasAbility to operate a manual and high speed burnisher, and, floor care machinesAbility to process, count, arrange, and fill unit linen ordersAssures biohazard waste and sharps containers are checked daily and removed when certain criteria are met, following policies and proceduresAt the end of each shift, responsible for replenishment of cleaning supplies and products for the next shiftAssures all equipment used is returned to the storage location clean and ready for usePolicies and Procedures – Work Outcome:
Remains in compliance with hospital policies and department procedures by making themselves available for ongoing training through monthly meetings and/or annual hospital wide updates conducted by supervisors, whether by means of organized meetings, one to one training, or computer based training. Promptly put into action department rules by cooperating with management and staff membersFollows assigned work schedule daily, weekly, and monthlyPromptly alert a supervisor and/or department head of potential hazards, missed completion of tasks, and any work assignments that may need more attentionFollows all policies and procedures for appropriate computer usage. Maintains required access to perform required computer work. Shows evidence of basic computer knowledge and skill for using Outlook (composing, sending and retrieving email)Performance and Productivity

Insures a consistent level of productivity and performance is maintained on all work assignments while adhering to scheduling and time constraints. Behavioral Action Steps

Ensures client and non-client areas are cleaned according to hospital standardsUses universal precautionUses safe cleaning practices by keeping equipment, supplies, and chemicals in close proximity at all timesProperly identifies potential hazard by use of signage (eg: wet floor sign)Exercises chemical safety (eg: proper chemical storage)Has awareness of mold (eg: shower curtains, shower walls)Is aware and able to report client room hazards (eg: broken furniture, and missing items)
