Job Summary

Performs the work of a general maintenance mechanic work as needed for the Board of Public Education.

What you will do
  • Maintains, repairs, and corrects all building components as assigned which may include but are not limited to
    1) cubicles installation, relocation, and removal,
    2) locker installation, relocation and removal,
    3) metal fabrication,
    4) fence installation and repairs,
    5) tile repairs,
    6) masonry related repairs
  • Leads a crew in maintenance, repair and corrections of all building components.
  • Maintains and orders supplies as needed to ensure necessary supplies are consistently available for routine operation, keeps accurate records and reports on work progress to ensure cost efficient department operations.
  • Assists in the training of new personnel and ensures that the necessary equipment and materials are available to complete the work order in order to ensure high quality work.
  • Provides first line of response to facility maintenance needs to assure maximum operational effectiveness of the facility.
  • Provides all required and appropriate documentation.
Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
  • Two to Three years experience in increasingly responsible general building maintenance and grounds maintenance trade Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the standard practices, tools and equipment of the general maintenance trade; landscaping, tree and shrubbery work; and applicable building codes is required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
Equivalency

Starting At: $21.78

Salary Information

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
