progressive solutions llc, located at 186-a north palestine road, natchez, ms, has 4 full‑time temporary job openings for brush clearers with supervisory responsibilities starting 3/16/2026 and ending approximately 9/30/2026.
qualifications & requirements- no minimum education required; applicant must be 21 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license.
- meet all company driver standards, pass a company driver test, complete company application, and may be required to obtain a dot medical card prior to driving.
- minimum of one year of documented experience supervising at least 6 brush clearers on utility rights‑of‑ways or forest lands.
- demonstrated competence in identifying foliage, handling pesticides, and performing low‑volume herbicide application techniques to industry standards.
- must be able to obtain a state pesticide license where required by government regulation.
- assist with directing, coordinating, monitoring, documenting activities, and motivating co‑workers in the handling and application of herbicides under manager supervision.
- use backpack sprayer and hand tools to apply herbicides to clear vegetation or debris from utility rights‑of‑way, rangelands, wildlife areas, roadsides, industrial sites, and other areas carrying up to 35 lbs. Of equipment while walking on rough terrain.
- transport work crews in company‑provided vehicle to and between work sites in various states.
- engage in extensive travel during the work period (approximately 6 months from 3/16/2026 to 9/30/2026) throughout ms, al, ar, az, ca, co, , il, in, ks, ky, la, md, mi, mn, mo, mt, nd, nm, nv, oh, ok, or, pa, sd, tn, tx, ut, va, wa, wi, wv, and wy.
hourly wage of $24.07 in natchez, ms for training. Hourly wages vary by location based on dept. Of labor prevailing wage rates (see table of rates per state). Basic employment is 40 hours and up to 10 hours of overtime per week (m‑f, 6:30 am to 4:00 pm); overtime typically required and paid after 40 hours.
travel & reimbursement- employer will pay lodging costs that reduce the wage below the offered rate.
- h2b workers reimbursed for visa, processing, border crossing, and related fees during the first work week.
- travel expenses and subsistence from recruitment location to first work site reimbursed on the 6th pay period or at 50% completion of the work period, whichever is less.
- upon completion of the work period or earlier dismissal, employer will arrange and pay for transportation and subsistence back to place of departure, except where the worker does not return due to subsequent employment or voluntary abandonment of employment.
- daily subsistence pay for inbound and outbound travel: at least $16.28 per day without receipts or up to $68 per day with receipts.
all equipment provided by employer at no cost to the worker.
the selected candidate must be able to commit to the extended travel and duties across multiple states throughout the specified period.
