Custodial Supervisor
This is a full‑time, exempt position supporting first- and second‑shift operations, town events, and emergency response. The anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with flexibility to accommodate operational needs.
As Custodial Supervisor, you will oversee custodial operations, including cleaning, maintenance, and staff management, in partnership with principals, building managers, and the facilities team. You will lead troubleshooting of maintenance issues and respond to urgent situations such as fire alarms and water leaks. Budget, inventory, and labor for the maintenance of Natick’s building infrastructure will also be under your oversight.
Responsibilities- Must be able to work assignments from oral and written instructions.
- Works in support of other department trades and performs other duties as required.
- May occasionally be required to supervise and guide less experienced employees or student workers. Maintain records, stock lists and department inventory.
- Maintains safe workplace and follows necessary safety requirements of the Town.
- Works under the direction of the Facilities Manager and Director of Facilities to ensure that the needs of the Town are met in a professional and timely manner.
- Basic computer skills such as e‑mail, web searches, and ability to learn new applications. Work order processing through a maintenance management system. Building management systems (BMS), security systems, door access systems.
- Must exhibit and maintain a customer service focus. Works in partnership with various Town departments.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed, including early morning and after‑hours call‑ins, and provide support for town events or emergencies.
- Works as part of a snow removal team; experience plowing preferred.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a custodial or maintenance field.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role, ideally in a union environment.
- Thorough working knowledge of state building codes.
- Familiar with OSHA standards.
- Valid Class D driver’s license.
- Willingness to advance trade knowledge and/or skill level through continuing education when required. Must attend required safety and equipment training.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS), card access, door systems, security systems, roofing, windows, and other building systems.
