Propane Service Technician

Position available in Gothenburg area, including Cozad, Callaway, Arnold, North Platte, Stapleton, Tryon.

Country Partners Cooperative is a full-service diversified agricultural cooperative in central Nebraska located in 20 communities, partnering with farmers and ranchers to accomplish more together.

This position is responsible for the proper and safe inspection and testing of propane tanks, gas lines, and propane systems.

• Performing safety inspections of residential and commercial customers’ propane systems for leaks and other problems, to ensure they are safe for use.
• Installing and setting propane tanks, providing removal of tanks, making field repairs of tank valves, seals, lines and regulators.
• Inspecting and testing propane tanks for leaks or corrosion, and ensuring they are functioning properly or need to be repaired or replaced.
• Attending and participating in all meetings and schools as directed by supervisor.
• Submitting reports as required by law and supervisor.
• Administering and controlling credit within the association’s established credit policy.
• Maintaining a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the Cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.
• Ensuring well‑maintained, clean facilities, equipment, and compliance with all state and federal regulations pertaining to a safe workplace, housekeeping, and all activities that require regulation compliance.
• Providing excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations, responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments.
• Effectively communicating by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.
• Maintaining and promoting safety awareness; following safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Presenting a clean and professional appearance.
• Performing all other duties as directed by the supervisor.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• On-the-job training with an existing propane service technician.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems.
• Technical skills to use tools and equipment to analyze a system or component.

• Valid Driver’s License with company approved driving record. Obtain CETP certification, line‑test training.
• Class B CDL with Haz Mat endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days.
