Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician position is a maintenance crew member assigned to perform maintenance including electrical‑mechanical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, frequency drives, mechanical troubleshooting and repair. The primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production by responding to changing conditions in a timely manner.
Essential Functions- Work in all areas of the plant, troubleshooting and repairing pumps and auto valves (emphasis)
- Troubleshooting and repair of grain system (emphasis)
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Conduct electrical repairs and installations 10‑20% of the time; conduct mechanical repairs and installation 80‑90% of the time
- Move, set, and calibrate controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms on control panels to regulate process variables such as flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals by automatic regulation and remote control
- Determine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments or automatic warning signals such as lights and horns
- Inspect equipment to locate leaks, breakages, faulty valves, and pumps
- Determine required repairs and maintenance of equipment
- Patrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions
- Lubricate equipment
- Utilize predictive technology such as thermography, vibration, and sonic tools to detect malfunctioning units

Qualifications- 3+ years of mechanical‑electrical experience or a Maintenance Technology degree
- High school diploma or GED required; preference for a Maintenance Technology degree
- Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care
- Experience with Arc and MIG‑TIG welding
- Mechanical background with bearing changes, pumps, conveyors, etc.
- Strong electrical experience required
- PLC/DCS knowledge
- Knowledge of Hart Communication Systems, Profibus wiring and communication methods, and DeviceNET
- Ability to read and update electrical prints
- Understanding of discrete and analog systems
- Strong pneumatic and hydraulic experience preferred
- Manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs, and work at heights
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to dusty conditions
- Exposure to high noise environments
- Exposure to all outside weather conditions
- Regular exposure to chemicals used in the process
