Job Description
Nevada State University (NSU) invites applications for the position of Student Worker - School of Education - Teacher Academy Pipeline Project (SoE-TAPP).
The SoE-TAPP Student Worker will work at the Christenson Education Building (CEB) and at local high school sites to support the TAPP project. The student worker will be supervised by the Associate Director of TAPP.
We are looking for a student in the School of Education (SoE) who is open to learn from and collaborate with a diverse staff and student population to help recruit and retain students to become elementary, secondary, special education and/or bilingual educators, school psychologists, or speech pathologists.
The SoE-TAPP Student Worker will assist with event development, design presentations, assist with conducting educational research, collect and organize data, collaborate with SoE students to develop lessons and programs, co-create and co-facilitate trainings and workshops, deliver presentations at high school sites, and compile student resources. The SoE-TAPP Student Worker will act as a student liaison for the School of Education and the TAPP project, attending various school site meetings, outreach events, and campus student organizations to stay up to date about campus offerings.
This position will interact with external school partners and families, including non-English speaking families, and must represent themselves with a high level of respect and professionalism, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
The SoE-TAPP Student Worker will also support the daily operations of the TAPP Project by offering administrative and office support duties, coordinating schedules for faculty and students to deliver presentations at various high schools, research strategies for successful interactive teaching and family engagement, and develop educational programming and relevant lesson plans for student workshops. Training, guidance, and coaching will be provided.
