Job Description

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Registrar's Office. The student worker will support students, faculty, and staff with registration and student record services. This position provides hands-on experience in customer service, university operations, and student information systems while helping students navigating processes such as class registration, transcript requests, and their Student Center. Student employees will develop strong communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality in a fast-paced office environment.

Core Responsibilities:

* Provide friendly and professional customer services to students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors through phone, email, and in-person interactions.

* Assist students with registration questions and help troubleshoot enrollment issues while applying university policies and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines.

* Help manage, review, and organize student records using university systems such as OnBase and People Soft, including scanning, filing, and data entry.

* Process Registrar's Office requests such as, but not limited to, transcripts, enrollment verifications, and student information updates with accuracy and attention to detail.

* Communicate with students regarding missing documents or next steps needed to complete requests.

* Maintain confidentiality and responsibly handle sensitive student information.

* Learn and apply Nevada State University policies and procedures related to registration and student records.

* Create and give presentations or peer support sessions on topics such as the Student Center and registering for classes.

* Perform other duties as assigned to promote overall operations and success of the Registrar's Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

* Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.

* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
