The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment of the NVHC facility.

• Previous experience in janitorial service industry required.
• Experience in medical setting preferred.

• All bins, pails, trash cans are to be emptied and disinfected into appropriate receptacles (general trash vs biohazard trash)
• Bathrooms cleaned and disinfected
• Floors will be cleaned regularly
• Office furniture cleaned
• Counter tops to be wiped down after supplies have been moved in order to clean entire surface
• Windows and window blinds wiped down and disinfected on a regular basis
• General cleaning such as vacuuming, and dusting/wiping down all equipment and their stands
• Additional duties as assigned

• Knowledge of essential cleaning and disinfection standards
• Knowledge of chemicals, MSDS and proper use of chemicals
• Knowledge of OSHA and biohazard standards to ensure safety on the job and compliance with OSHA standards on the job site
• Skill in operating various janitorial equipment
• Skill in accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
• Ability to read and write legibly
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
• Ability to provide exemplary customer service for both internal and external customers
• Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions
• Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and to enhance teamwork in the clinics and overall NVHC's organization
• Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
• Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
