Description
DefinitionUnder the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, the Facility Technician will be responsible for providing innovative and low‑cost solutions through preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the facility and its grounds.
Essential Functions(Performance of these functions is the reason the job exists. Assigned jobs/duties are not limited to the essential functions).
Maintains equipment and systems operated by the department properly according to policy and procedure to ensure standards of consistent, efficient, and high‑quality operations and maintained throughout the hospital.
Qualifications for employment include the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform a job, which are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or training.
Knowledge of- Basic preventative maintenance and repair skills.
- Safety practices related to maintenance roles.
- Equipment used for floor care, grounds maintenance, and other tools as necessary.
- Watering systems.
- Manage tasks with low to moderate supervision and prioritize those of greatest importance.
- Maintain aesthetically pleasing buildings and grounds.
- Assist with weather‑related events, including snow and ice removal, flooding, etc.
- Respond to off‑hours incidents as necessary.
Work is performed under the following conditions:
This position will be an indoor and outdoor position that may expose the incumbent to weather extremes, including freezing and extremely hot temperatures while working outdoors. This role may involve exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and unpleasant odors. Work schedule may include rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Experience and TrainingAny combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is:
- One year of related experience is preferred.
The physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Ability to lift, move, and transfer equipment up to 50 pounds regularly. Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors. Capacity to prioritize tasks, multitask, and maintain safety protocol.
