Salary: Up to $18.00 per hour – depending on Experience – Up to $1000 potential sign on bonus

Summary

Drives truck equipped with dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal, or bituminous paving materials by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt body and dump contents.
  • Moves hand and foot controls to lurch truck forward and backward to loosen and dump material adhering to body.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
