We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a maintenance function supporting a complex, asset-intensive operation. This role will focus on strengthening team performance, preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, work-order discipline, and overall departmental execution. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical credibility with the leadership, planning, and administrative skills required to manage a modern maintenance organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the maintenance team by setting clear expectations, improving accountability, and creating a consistent approach to performance and execution.
- Strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and support longer asset life.
- Oversee work-order practices, maintenance scheduling, service documentation, and completion standards using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Direct maintenance and troubleshooting activities across a broad mix of mechanical, electrical, automated, and facility-related systems.
- Establish effective maintenance processes that improve planning, prioritization, follow-through, and coordination across the department.
- Partner with operations and technical teams to resolve equipment issues, improve uptime, and create better alignment between maintenance and production needs.
- Manage departmental planning activities, including budget ownership, maintenance resources, spare-parts needs, contractor support, and future maintenance priorities.
- Promote safe maintenance practices and ensure work is completed in accordance with established operating and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in a complex production, processing, or similarly equipment-intensive environment.
- Demonstrated success leading maintenance personnel, developing employees, setting expectations, and improving team accountability.
- Strong background in preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and reducing recurring equipment downtime.
- Experience using a CMMS, computerized work-order platform, or similar maintenance management system.
- Broad technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, controls, automation, and facility systems sufficient to lead experienced maintenance personnel.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with management responsibilities such as planning, budgeting, documentation, contractor coordination, and performance tracking.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with operations, technical teams, vendors, and leadership.
