Electrical Technician II

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Technician II to join our operations & maintenance team in New Albany, Ohio. This position is responsible for performing intermediate level maintenance duties on heating, cooling, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control systems.

• Prioritize work based on client needs and ensure on‑time completion with accurate documentation.
• Maintain and support facility electrical systems, diagnosing and repairing equipment and control circuits from 24V up to 480V AC, including PLCs, ladder logic, and variable frequency drives.
• Work safely around 13.8kV and perform preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the CMMS.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure systems such as servers, network equipment, PLCs, access control, alarm investigation, and SCADA management.
• Provide daily assistance to technicians by reading blueprints, schematics, ladder logic, and system operations; conduct system tours and assess their operational status.
• Identify and correct safety‑related issues, perform equipment evaluations, and enforce federal, state, and local electrical codes along with NFPA 70E compliance.
• Respond to and provide service and feedback to customers on all work orders while ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Apply safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and appropriate PPE, and use measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments for energy efficiency solutions.
• Operate hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic hardware; maintain strict scheduling while demonstrating flexibility in day‑to‑day activities.
• Promote safety and adherence to the Amentum Safety Structure.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience as an electrician in a data center, industrial environment, hospital, or manufacturing facility.
• Ability to work in an aerial or scissor lift up to 30ft or higher.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills; self‑motivated and proactive.
• Must be able to obtain a security access badge; may require a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform repetitive wrist movements, walk extensively, and use extension ladders or roof/step ladders as needed.
• Must be proficient in reading wire color codes, office equipment, and computer systems; fluent in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with precision equipment, chemicals, and regulated materials; measurement tools such as micrometers and dial indicators acceptable.
• Willingness to work overtime, including holidays and weekends; schedules may change based on business needs.

• Repetitive wrist movements, extensive walking, climbing ladders, and moving in a 90° flexed position.
• Ability to differentiate wire colors and read technical documents.
• Competence in operating a computer keyboard and using office equipment for data entry and communication.
• Professional and courteous communication with clients during stressful periods.

• Wear steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other protective equipment as needed.
• Cope with job‑related stressors to maintain acceptable performance levels.

$30.00 – $32.00 per hour; actual compensation may vary based on responsibilities, experience, and market data.
