Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician possesses technical skills in several areas including machine and facility maintenance and can perform these tasks confidently and efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and systems according to established schedules.
    • Inspect and test equipment to identify issues and potential problems.
    • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Repair and Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore functionality.
    • Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying reasons for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Facility Maintenance:
    • Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting.
    • Monitor and maintain building infrastructure, such as roofs, walls, floors, and doors.
    • Address maintenance requests and issues reported by occupants or management in a timely manner.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
    • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and facilities and address any hazards or non-compliance issues.
    • Follow established procedures for the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment logs.
    • Document repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks performed, including parts used and labor hours expended.
    • Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs for management review.
  • Qualifications

    Education/

    Experience:

    • Knowledge and experience in Facility and Machine maintenance.
    • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Experience in the packaging industry is preferred, but not required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work environment may include exposure to noise, vibrations, and hazardous materials.
    • May be required to work in confined spaces or at heights, and to lift heavy objects.
    • Flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate maintenance needs, including evening, weekend, or on-call shifts.
    • Ability to walk, stand, kneel, lift, carry, push, and pull.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
