Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors company, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic Lead to support our Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management team. In this on-site role, you'll lead mechanical maintenance for environmental process equipment, coordinating preventive and corrective work to maximize reliability and safety. You'll mentor technicians, troubleshoot pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems, and ensure compliance with strict environmental and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day mechanical maintenance for environmental process equipment, including pumps, conveyors, and material handling systems.
- Plan, perform, and document preventive and corrective maintenance using the company's CMMS to maximize asset reliability and uptime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to safely restore operations in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and mentor maintenance technicians, assigning work, providing technical guidance, and promoting best practices.
- Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on equipment improvements, upgrades, and capital projects to support sustainability goals.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts usage, and asset history to support audits and reliability analysis.
- Support and model a safety-first culture by following LOTO, PPE, and Safe Work Practices and participating in safety meetings and training.
- Work with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, parts sourcing, and equipment startups.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance procedures, asset performance, and energy efficiency.
