Maintenance Technician
John Newcombe Country Club, located in New Braunfels, TX, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Maintenance Technician! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Starting Position Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Occasional weekend or evening projects as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance
- Perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and daily walkthroughs
- Complete basic carpentry, painting, patching, and woodwork projects
- Assist with minor plumbing, lighting, and electrical troubleshooting
- Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and safety of indoor spaces including gym, lobby, and locker rooms
Grounds and Outdoor Areas
- Assist with landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, blowing, and debris removal
- Remove trash across the property and outdoor facilities
- Maintain pool deck, splash pad, playground, turf, and common areas
- Perform seasonal maintenance including power washing, staining, touch-ups, and weather preparation
Courts (Tennis, Pickleball, Padel)
- Conduct daily court checks and sweeping
- Operate blower for leaf and debris removal
- Perform net adjustments, windscreen upkeep, and minor repairs
- Assist with special projects and resurfacing timelines
Pool Maintenance
- Monitor chemical levels and equipment
- Perform skimming, vacuuming, and backwashing to maintain water quality
- Conduct daily safety inspections
Vendor and Contractor Coordination
- Meet on-site vendors, oversee scopes of work, and communicate needs
- Assist with project preparation, punch lists, and follow-ups
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate maintenance equipment
- Experience in facility, grounds, or general maintenance preferred
- Positive attitude and team-first mindset
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
