The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all maintenance activities across two manufacturing facilities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure. This role leads the maintenance team, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinates outside contractors, and works closely with production, engineering, and quality departments to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead maintenance technicians across two manufacturing facilities.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, and monitor daily maintenance activities to support production schedules.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Respond quickly to equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs on CNC machining centers, manual machine tools, automated equipment, compressors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and facility utilities.
- Maintain building infrastructure including HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, lighting, compressed air systems, and general facility maintenance.
- Schedule maintenance work to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate and supervise outside contractors, service providers, and equipment installers.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, equipment histories, and documentation using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or equivalent tracking system.
- Manage maintenance inventory including spare parts, tooling, lubricants, and repair supplies.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and capital improvement projects to improve reliability and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure safe work practices including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and machine guarding procedures.
- Assist with installation, relocation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to equipment failures.
- Provide coaching, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing development for maintenance personnel.
- Maintain effective communication with production supervisors, engineering, quality, and management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Experience maintaining CNC machining equipment and precision manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- PLC troubleshooting experience.
- HVAC certification.
- Electrical license or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
