Groundskeeper
Responsibilities
- Performs diversified maintenance and grounds duties involving the preparation of campus facilities and the maintenance of equipment and grounds in multipurpose areas of the University.
- Operates power equipment and drives University vehicles.
- Erects and disassembles bleachers, chairs, platforms, lecturer hall equipment, etc.; cleans and maintains buildings, pools and attendant equipment used for such special events as conferences, lectures, concerts, dances, parties, athletic events, etc.
- Performs such incidental duties as guarding exists, collecting tickets, ushering, etc., relative to special events, as required.
- May receive, store, and replenish supplies; pickup and deliver items such as division mail, furniture, linens, and other supplies; load and unload trucks; maintain inventory of supplies and obtain signatures for picked up and delivered items.
- Performs general maintenance of grounds, i.e., cuts grass and shrubs, maintains weeding and fertilizing of lawns and flower beds; performs snow removal operations as assigned.
- Detects faulty operation of equipment and makes minor adjustments; reports questionable conditions to supervisor.
- Performs related duties as required.
- One year experience in the landscaping industry with knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and two years driving experience; will be required to successfully complete the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.
- Must be able to read and speak English commensurate with job duties and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

6:30 AM-3:00 PM Monday‑Friday;
