Overview

The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs approximately 2,700 staff and manages institutional strategic initiatives and operations across New Jersey, including planning, construction, facilities, public safety, environmental health, transportation, housing, and auxiliary operations.

Posting Summary

Rutgers University is seeking a Custodian for IP&O. The role provides routine custodial services to maintain a clean and habitable environment and performs basic maintenance and repair tasks on university facilities equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of routine custodial duties required to maintain buildings and grounds.
• Perform basic maintenance and repair duties on university facilities equipment.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Customer‑service oriented attitude and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with custodial/cleaning equipment.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Shift

• Tuesday–Wednesday 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Saturday through Wednesday).

Working Hours & Schedule

Full‑time, 40.00 hours per week.

Salary

Grade 08:
Minimum $34,723.24, Mid‑range $38,125.15, Maximum $43,757.37.
