• Perform custodial duties as assigned by the chief custodian or building administrator, ensuring a clean, comfortable, healthy, safe, and attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Clean floors, walls, blinds, furniture, lavatories, classrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, locker rooms, lockers, shelves, fixtures and glass surfaces.
• Maintain and do minor repair of furniture.
• Perform cafeteria area duties: clean kitchen and cafeteria floors, remove filters in hoods, clean range hood, clean hand washing sinks, clean grease trap as necessary, deliver government surplus supplies and frozen food cases to storage areas, empty trash, mop up spills during lunch periods, perform minor maintenance repairs including replacement of small window glass.
• Assist in snow removal.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Lift, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Repeated stooping, twisting, and bending.
• Work in extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions.
• Stand, walk, and sit frequently; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
• Require close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and ability to adjust focus.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Flexible for shift/schedule changes; advance notice of at least 72 hours, except in emergencies.
• Physical ability to perform essential functions.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Ability to get along with adults and students.
• Good moral character: honest, dependable, courteous.
• Ability to follow instructions and inquire before acting on unfamiliar items.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate professionally and effectively with staff and students as needed.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Satisfactory Criminal Background Check (less than 1 year old).
• DE Child Protection Registry Report.
• TB Test Results (less than 1 year old).
• Signed Social Security card – required by State of Delaware for payroll.
• I‑9 Form with appropriate identification.
• Mandatory direct deposit of paycheck.
