Duties

• Tests, analyzes, repairs, reconstructs a wide variety of highly complicated electronic, Automatic Data Processing (ADP), and electro-mechanical equipment; and specialized integrated and programmable systems and components.
• Modifies, and relocates existing systems to include system layouts as documented in drawings, mechanical, electrical.
• Accomplishes component repairs and modifications to the micro-chip level.
• Maintains, repairs, services, and implements modifications on computer controlled material handling systems, components and related communication and data processing support systems.
• Examples of systems mentioned above: encoders, decoders, interface circuits, serial to parallel data converters, and various input and output devices.
• Uses blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, program listings, input/output assignment work sheets, manufacturer's manuals, and other technical guidance material carry out and successfully complete work.

• This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Distribution Susquehanna.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license.

Qualifications

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying.

Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.

The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is:

• Ability to do the work of an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic without more than normal supervision (SOE):
  Perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as performing common repairs and replacement on electronic industrial controls equipment found in materials handling equipment
