Southern New Hampshire University is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to support campus facilities operations, with a primary emphasis on painting and general building maintenance. You will report to the Carpentry Services Manager and provide handson support across multiple areas of facilities operations and assist licensed trades staff with minor projects and daily maintenance needs. #LI-Onsite

• Mon-Fri: 7:30 AM - 4 PM
  • We require participation in a rotating oncall schedule.

• Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, patching, sanding, finishing, and touchup work
• Support general building maintenance activities such as:
  • Minor repairs to doors, hardware, fixtures, screens, and furnishings
  • Basic upkeep of campus facilities and mill buildings
• Assist licensed trades staff (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC) with minor projects and preparatory tasks
• Support Millyard operations, including:
  • Event and conference room setup (tables, chairs, room configurations)
  • Minor repairs and operational support
• Participate in snow removal and inclement weather response, consistent with facilities operations requirements
• Safely use hand and power tools commonly associated with building maintenance
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Follow all university safety procedures and facilities protocols

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in general building maintenance, facilities support, or a related handson maintenance role
• Demonstrated painting experience

The hourly pay range for this position is $21.09 - $33.76. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $23.32 - $31.54.
