Job DescriptionThe Souhegan School District is seeking a qualified Facilities Technician to perform routine building maintenance and repairs requested and scheduled by the Facility Manager or Head Technician, including all housekeeping duties. The Technician will follow written or verbal work instructions and schedules, operate assorted power machines (scrubbing/buffing machines, wet/dry vacuums, rug shampoo machines, steam cleaner, lawn mowing equipment, trucks, snow removal equipment), and perform various tasks as requested by the Principal and other school personnel in support of instructional and event needs.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Perform routine building custodial duties as scheduled by the facility manager.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs as scheduled by the facility manager.
- Follow the written work schedule.
- Operate assorted power machines (scrubbing/buffing machines, wet/dry vacuums, rug shampoo machines, steam cleaner, lawn mowing equipment, etc.).
- Perform various tasks requested by facility manager, principal, and school personnel.
- Fulfill requests specified on work orders unless requests contradict existing school rules.
- Prior custodial experience.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Organized, efficient, and reliable.
- Good communication skills.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Able to handle pressure and deadlines, welcomes challenges, and can multitask and think well on one’s feet.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
