Facilities Second Shift - Amherst Middle School

Custodian Position

Custodian needed to work full-time year-round. Perform routine building maintenance and repairs as scheduled by the head custodian, including all custodial duties. Follow written work schedule and complete Cleaning Checklist. Operate assorted power machines, such as but not limited to, scrubbing/buffing machines, wet/dry vacuums, rug shampoo machines, etc. Perform various tasks requested by head custodian, principal, and school personnel. Fulfill requests specified on work orders.

Responsible for checking all exits, windows and doors to see that they are properly closed and locked. Secure building and set alarm. Empty trash into dumpsters and recyclables into designated containers each day. Climb heights to perform required duties Sweep, dry mop or wet mop floors and stairs and vacuum carpeted areas daily to remove dust, dirt, paper, etc. Help with snow removal when needed.

Available for additional work and/or overtime as required. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Please note:

This facilities position is full-time, year round and works 8 hours per day (night shift) during the school year and works a day schedule during school breaks and summer.
