TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks an Industrial Maintenance Tech to support facility and equipment reliability for a boutique strategic communications firm in Washington, DC. In this hands-on role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems and industrial equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and manage work orders and maintenance logs. You'll collaborate with operations and leadership to minimize downtime, uphold safety standards, and support continuous improvements in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and building systems to ensure reliable operations
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective repairs
- Execute work orders, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and support asset tracking and parts inventory
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to critical project work
- Support continuous improvement by identifying equipment upgrades, safety enhancements, and process efficiencies
- Follow safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable codes and standards
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized maintenance or repairs are required
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and calibration of new equipment and systems
