Rate of Pay/
Hours:
$18.00/hour. Up to 40 hours per week

Position Summary:
The Summer Helper assists Head Custodian in cleaning the school and prepping school facility for the next school year.
Minimum Qualifications /Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
* Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in custodial work;
* Ability to follow written and oral instructions;
* Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships;
* Ability to work independently; and,
* Handle multiple tasks and prioritize activities with a minimal level of supervision.
Essential Duties and Functions:
* Sweeps, mops, and washes interior floors and stairways;
* Washes windows;
* Moves, dusts, and washes furniture;
* Clean lavatories;
* Collects and disposes of rubbish;
* Operates hand and power equipment such as mowers and scrubbers;
* Cuts grass; and,
* Trims shrubs.
Physical Requirements:
Standing and/or walking for long periods of time, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, moving furniture and or equipment, walking several hours per day in hallways and outside. Must be able to work in heat and cold (outside seasonal temperatures).
Work Environment:
Work may be performed outside in seasonal temperatures as well as inside of buildings. Work may be performed during both daylight and night hours. Flexibility and patience are required.
May have to work with ropes, dollies, carts, locks, pylons, and furniture that need to be moved or carried to other areas. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision.
