The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a full‑time (37.5 hours/week) HVAC Technician (PCN 153645) for the CT Mental Health Center (CMHC) in New Haven.
Schedule
* First shift: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
* Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week

Position Highlights
* Performs highly skilled HVACR work in accordance with trade practices and codes on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems
* Operates, maintains, installs, and repairs complex HVACR systems, including equipment using Freon, chilled water, and advanced air-handling components
* Monitors and troubleshoots computerized control systems, ensuring proper airflow, pressurization, and system performance
* Independently plans and executes work, including estimating materials, determining cooling requirements, and completing technical tasks with minimal supervision
* Interprets technical data such as psychrometric charts and performs diagnostic tasks including minor fuel tests, gas leak checks, and water treatment adjustments
A comprehensive medical examination, including drug screening, is required following a conditional offer of employment. All state employees must comply with Connecticut's Drug‑Free Workplace Policy.
