Schedule: 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Summer
Hours:
6:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each shift includes 6 hours of paid work time and 30 minutes of unpaid meal time; 52 weeks per year. Category VI, $19.30 – $21.82 per hour (2025‑26 custodial contract) plus benefits.
- Reports to the day/night custodian, facilities Program Director, and Director of Buildings and Grounds.
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas using proper equipment and supplies.
- Sets up rooms for conferences, classes, and special events.
- Provides proper care and cleaning of equipment, tools, and the workplace.
- Complies with established timelines and quality completion of tasks.
- Uses work time efficiently and effectively.
- Practices fiscal responsibility related to methods, supplies, equipment, recycling, utilities, and the environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Sufficient reading skills to read material data sheets.
- Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, procedures, and equipment preferred.
- Capable of working alone using ladders of various lengths, equipment, and chemicals, which can be hazardous when not properly handled, and on rooftops.
- Assist in loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
- Lift and move tables, desks, and chairs weighing up to 40 pounds (not exceeding 50 pounds).
- Lift cartons, boxes, and buckets weighing up to 30 pounds (not exceeding 50 pounds).
- Operate vacuum equipment of backpack type and push/pull type on floors, walls, and furniture involving twisting, turning, pushing, and pulling.
- Operate floor‑care mop equipment.
- Operate walk‑behind and self‑propelled custodial floor‑care equipment.
- Scrub floors and stairs.
- Apply finish to floor systems.
- Use chemicals safely per manufacturer recommendations.
- Inspect HVAC equipment, equipment rooms, and building tunnels in a stooped position occasionally.
- Climb stairs occasionally.
- Work alone on ladders up to 20 ft., on lifts or scaffold up to 20 ft., and assess rooftops occasionally.
- Clean site from snow and ice using shovels, snow throwers, or other equipment provided by the district.
