Floor Maintenance Technician - North Campus 9am-5:30pm New Iberia, LA

IMC is currently hiring a Housekeeping Floor/Trash Technician to join our Environmental Services department, working the 9am-5:30pm shift
. In this role the candidate must be able to successfully strip and wax floors, with previous experience doing this task preferred.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• No previous experience required, but current hospital housekeeping experience is desired
• 1-3 years of relatable experience preferred
• Job requires employee to perform tasks and assignments under the supervision of the Floor Supervisor and/or Department Manager and is expected to analyze situations and act within the scope of standard procedures.

• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
• Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
• Uses the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Observes safety precautions at all times; uses safety signs, wet floor signs, and ropes off sections of floor for cleaning when appropriate.
• Performs all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Knowledgeable of all cleaning chemicals used in surgical suites; able to dress out appropriately before entering/leaving surgical suites, clean and sanitize surgical suites and PACUs, and remove all surgical waste and refuse, both biohazard and standard refuse.
• Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas.
• Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.

• Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
• Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
• Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.
