Overview
Position Overview The Maintenance Associate plays a key role in supporting Burlington’s mission to deliver great value to our customers by ensuring a clean, efficient, and well-organized distribution environment. This position is responsible for operating various material-handling and floor-care equipment, maintaining critical recycle and pallet zones, and providing essential support to the Maintenance and Operations teams. The Utility Equipment Operator helps keep the facility running smoothly by moving product, organizing trailers, maintaining cleanliness standards, and assisting with minor equipment issues—all while upholding Burlington’s culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
You’llCome With
- Warehouse or material-handling experience preferred.
- Ability to become certified on forklift, clamp truck, sweeper, and scrubber.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills.
- Basic mechanical or troubleshooting aptitude is a plus.
- Material Handling & Equipment Operation:
Safely operate a sit-down forklift to stage, move, and load pallets into outbound trailers. - Material Handling & Equipment Operation:
Operate a clamp truck to handle, stack, and load cardboard and plastic bales for recycling. - Material Handling & Equipment Operation:
Operate a power sweeper and scrubber to maintain clean, debris-free floors throughout the facility. - Material Handling & Equipment Operation:
Become certified to operate all assigned material-handling and floor-care equipment. - Facility Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cardboard baler area. - Facility Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain the pallet area, including restacking and consolidating pallets as needed. - Facility Cleanliness & Organization:
Conduct routine sweeping, scrubbing, and debris removal. - Maintenance & Operational Support:
Assist Maintenance Technicians with minor jam clearing and basic troubleshooting. - Maintenance & Operational Support:
Support facility projects and help maintain workflow during downtime. - Maintenance & Operational Support:
Follow all Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures when supporting maintenance activities. - Safety & Compliance:
Follow all Burlington safety policies, including equipment inspections and PPE usage. - Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to OSHA regulations and Burlington SOPs. - Safety & Compliance:
Participate in required safety trainings and certifications.
