Maintenance Assistant

Excelcare at Norwood is seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our team. • Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
• Respond promptly to work orders and maintenance requests from staff
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas, resident rooms, and outdoor spaces
• Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and pest control
• Monitor and restock maintenance supplies and tools
• Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and facility inspections
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and infection control standards
• Report hazards, damages, or needed repairs to the Maintenance Director

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or skilled trades preferred
• Basic knowledge of building systems and hand tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on‑call shifts
• Familiarity with long‑term care or healthcare environments a plus
