Custodian

Job Overview The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
  • Perform hazardous waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
  • Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area.
  • Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Address risk behavior of others and self.
  • Work as part of a team with other employees.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and maintain a clean work area.
  • Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Take direction and respond to supervision.
  • Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers.
  • Fill in during staff shortages and support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
  • Use personal protective equipment and present a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction and reporting systems.
Qualifications
  • No specific education requirement; 3–6 months of training or experience preferred or equivalent combination.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Completion of all safety and task training certification.
  • Forklift certification may be required.
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.
  • Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Frequently sit, talk, or listen while performing duties.
  • Lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Shift work and possible on‑call Monday‑Friday day shift.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation On‑call Monday‑Friday day shift $20.00–$21.00 per hour.
