Maintenance Assistant

Excel Care at Norwood is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to support the daily operations of our skilled nursing facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, dependable, and takes pride in ensuring our facility is well cared for and running smoothly.

Located at 100 Mc Clellan St, Norwood, NJ 07648

• Assist with general maintenance: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
• Complete repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems
• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests from staff
• Help maintain clean and safe common areas, resident rooms, and outdoor spaces
• Support seasonal tasks like snow removal and landscaping
• Monitor supplies and tools, and report any hazards or needed repairs
• Help with room setups, furniture moves, and facility inspections
• Always follow safety and infection control protocols

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Maintenance/skilled trade experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of building systems and tools
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work
• Detail‑oriented with strong safety awareness
• Reliable team player with good communication skills
• Flexible availability (weekends/on‑call as needed)
• Healthcare or long‑term care experience a plus
